RDC 2026 recap: every announcement that matters

This year's convention leaned heavily on creator tooling rather than flashy avatar reveals. The headline announcement was a revenue-share adjustment for experiences that hit sustained engagement thresholds, giving smaller studios a more realistic path to it than the old top-heavy structure.

A new avatar body physics layer was demoed on stage and looked notably smoother than the current cloth simulation, though no ship date was given beyond 'this year.'

On the tooling side, a visual scripting layer aimed at younger and non-coding creators was shown briefly, positioned as a bridge into full Luau scripting rather than a replacement for it.

Most of the crowd reaction was reserved for a montage of community-built experiences hitting a billion combined visits — a genuinely impressive number, even accounting for how it was framed on stage.
